These 22mm (7/8") TYPE C black rubber ferrules, also known as stoppers, tips, bottoms or ends are ideal suited for walking sticks. They are hard wearing, long lasting & finished off with a metal washer inside to last longer.
The only problem I have with these ferrules is that they're not too long-lasting on hard, rough surfaces - they are however available at a good price from this supplier which makes replacing them less of a issue.The "heavy duty" version will last longer of course, but are a little bulkier/heavier, but your choice.Doing quite a bit of walking, and having taken up 'stick-making' as a hobby, I've spent countless hours studying ferrule options and costsBrass, steel, copper, rubber, plastic - for use on smooth lawns, wet/dry mud, ice, snow, concrete, rocky hillsides, gravel, tarmac, dance-floors, carpets . . .Hard/soft rubber, blunt/spiked metal etc. etc.I don't claim to be an "expert" but I see these as the best ferrules (from the best supplier) for light duty use indoors & around town in reasonable weather - but certainly not the best for hiking in the hills on mud, ice, snow, rocky terrain etc!
